Republican George Allen says he has no intention of running for office again. The former governor/U.S. Senator's announcement follows last week's U.S. Senate race loss to Democrat Tim Kaine. Among those voicing disappointment regarding Allen's political retirement is Governor McDonnell. He says he sincerely hopes all Virginians will remember the incredible service Allen has given to the Commonwealth. McDonnell says Allen will go down in history as one of the state's most influential and successful governors. He adds Allen was equally successful in improving the lives of all Virginians during his service as a delegate, Congressman and Senator.
