Born in Washington, D.C., Barry grew up in Fairfax, Virginia
and Hialeah, Florida. He graduated from Florida Atlantic
University with a degree in education and later moved back
home to Virginia where he landed a morning radio job at
WFFV in Middletown, Virginia.

Barry became the morning announcer at WINC in 1984
and has been hosting ever since. Referring to his listeners
as his “extended family”, Barry says it’s an honor to start the
magic of a new day with ‘family’ and share some laughs together.

With a soft spot for non-profits, Barry created the
WINC Christmas Chain of Checks in 1986,
which has raised over one million dollars for local charities.

Voted ‘favorite radio announcer’ by Martinsburg Journal
readers the last 3 years, the “WINC Wake-Up Show” with Barry Lee,
Robert Allen and Beverly Farmer was selected the
“Best Morning Show-Medium Market” in 2010 by
the Virginia Association of Broadcasters.
