Application for Employment

We all spend a lot of time at our jobs and spending time doing something you enjoy beats the doldrums and watching the clock every time. In my job every day is different and the challenges big, but that’s what fun about it. My job is to help  businesses craft a unique advertising message and use the power of local radio to spread the word.

I work with 105 WINC FM and our great group of radio stations in Northern Virginia.   We own four brands including 105 WINC FM, News Talk AM 1400, and WINC TV 15.  We serve listeners and advertisers in the Northern part of the Shenandoah Valley, Loudoun County and Washington’s Western Suburbs.  Right now we are looking to add one or more individuals to our sales team.  The position may be just right for you. You might be surprised how your knowledge, background, drive and contacts apply in this position. If you are connected…a who’s who… have sales or marketing experience and have a positive can do attitude we want to hear from you!  We’ll talk about how you can turn your relationships into money for their businesses and yourself.

There is only one way to find out if it’s a good fit for you and that’s by contacting us.  Already working? No worries….all inquires will be kept confidential.

To cover our large area we have offices in both Winchester and Leesburg.  Our radio stations are legendary in the area and are proudly owned by Centennial Broadcasting II LLC; an equal opportunity employer.

And here’s what folks on our team have to say……really!

  • To me, laughter is ‘spiritual ‘ … and to share a laugh with our listeners is something pretty sacred.  What job encourages the use of humor in its mission statement!
  • We get to work with people who laugh together every day?  Think of all those folks who go to a job each day where they don’t get to interact with one another in a crazy, fun kind of way.
  • We have great people and a fun atmosphere
  • Opportunities to grow and learn
  • I got into radio because it is such a personal medium.  The philosophy and tradition behind our station has been to connect with this community.  Whether it’s information they need for their lives from our news department, to assisting our nonprofits, to calling out a Birthdays…we connect like a BIG family.  Our listeners as an ‘extended family’.
  • Legacy station with deep roots in the community
  • Opportunities to work with and help the community
  • It’s just great music!
  • It’s a place to learn and grow and be rewarded for what you do.
  • Radio as a whole has a connection with community.  And WINC makes a difference in people’s lives.
  • It’s fun, it gives me the opportunity to bring creative ideas to life while bringing different businesses and organizations together
  • It’s rewarding.  It’s great when you have a client tell you their business is doing well and that WINC is part of the reason why
  • Growing up in the Winchester area, WINC has been a part of my life as long as I can remember.  I recall sitting in front of the radio or television on snowy days, waiting anxiously for Barry Lee to say “Winchester City Schools – Closed”.
  • I had the opportunity to join the WINC team right after college, working part time, and eventually receiving a full time airshift. I loved the size of WINC’s signal. I can get a call from Bedford, PA in the north and the next could be from Lake Anna near Richmond in the south.
  • What keeps me at WINC is the people that I worked with each day, my radio family. From our community service to helping people advertise their business, they challenge me find new and creative ways to communicate effectively. I like helping people market their businesses and events.
  • Fun environment where something exciting is always happening. Radio is never boring!
  • I have the opportunity to positively impact your community (chain of checks, pet adoption, etc)
  • I work with a diverse group of people who all have the same goal at the end of the day— to be proud of the product that goes On the air and make a living while doing it!
  • I love how much of a community oriented station WINC is. Being active and involved in the local community is very important to me, and being able to contribute to a station that is looked upon as a reliable staple in this market is incredibly rewarding.
  • Being able to have fun at work is so important. I have to pinch myself sometimes for I feel so blessed to be a part of a such a professional, yet fun and passionate working environment.
  • One of my life mottos is “live to inspire.” I love being able to make connections with people (listeners/community members) on a daily basis. In some way shape or form, albeit sometimes small, I am able to make a positive impact on another person’s life with the work I do whether it’s on the air or out at a community event.
  • WINC is a great place to work because it is operated by local business leaders who still understand that value of serving the local community.  Most radio stations are run by corporations with layers and layers of people who never set foot in the station or the market and program with a cookie cutter way of doing business.
  • WINC is a great place to work because they hire local on-air personalities who know the community and know how to interact with the audience.  This allows for the listeners to feel an ownership and friendship with the station. They also know that the people presenting the music, weather and news are one with them.  Syndicated and tracked programming can be disconnected and the audience feels it.
  • WINC continues to support the local community in so many ways.
  • My coworkers are great…it’s rewarding to help promote non-profits/businesses and entertain/inform the community…that and great music is always on.
  • It’s the people I work with, the process of how I work and it’s something NEW everyday
